Meet the Team

Dr. Brian Schowengerdt, DDS

Dr. Brian Schowengerdt graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2016 after receiving his undergraduate degree in Chemistry, also at UMKC. He was born and raised in Mission, Kansas with his 9 older siblings and attended Bishop Miege High School. Dr. Schowengerdt and his wife, Bailey, have been married for 6 years and have a little girl and a little boy, who are always keeping them on their toes.

Dr. Schowengerdt is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Fifth District Dental Society and the Kansas City Dental Implant Club. He thoroughly enjoys keeping up with his continuing education courses, learning in a variety of subjects and expanding his knowledge to best serve his patients. He has a mind for dentistry and a heart for helping every patient to be treated like they are family.

In his free time he enjoys playing and coaching sports, especially basketball. More than anything, he enjoys spending time outdoors and being active with his wife, children, and their rescue dog, Maggie. He also enjoys spending time with his large extended family, including his 37 nieces and nephews.

Front Desk

At our practice, we select only the best of the best to serve our patients and their families. All of our staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and highly proficient in their office duties. Should you have any questions or concerns before, during or after a visit to our office, do not hesitate to visit with one of our staff members. They are readily standing by to address your needs.

Jen – Office Manager

Jen joined our team over 5 years ago. She had recently moved to Missouri from Colorado where she had spent the previous 10 years in the dental field giving her over 15 years experience in the dental field.

She has gained experience no only in the front office with helping patients understand their insurance benefits, treatment planning and coordinating all office and staffing procedures…and she has also worked on the clinical side of dentistry which gives her an edge to understanding all of your needs as a patient in our office.

Jen realizes not everyone loves coming to the dentist, which is why she adopted the philosophy to treat every patient like they are a VIP in our office. She is here to help you feel comfortable and knowledgeable during your visit with us, so when you leave our office you feel cared for and educated on your dental health.

When Jen is not at the office, she enjoys time with her husband of over 30 years, her 5 kids and 2 dogs. She loves to travel with her family, especially if there is a beach involved or Mickey Mouse!!

So whether you’re in for a routine check-up or need a bit of guidance on your insurance or treatment, Jen is here to ensure you leave with a grin–and maybe even a few fun stories!!

Audrey – Front Desk Coordinator

Audrey is the first smiling face you’ll see when you walk through our doors. With over six years of experience in the dental field, Audrey brings a wealth of knowledge and a genuine love for connecting with patients. She creates a warm and welcoming environment from the moment you arrive. Whether it’s checking you in, scheduling your next visit, answering your questions about insurance, or handling payment, she’s dedicated to making your experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Known around the office as the “baby whisperer”, Audrey is always ready to lend a helping hand to our little visitors while their parents attend their appointments. She’s a proud mama of her sweet boy and girl twins, and an energetic pocket bully. When she’s not balancing family life and work, you’ll find Audrey exploring local coffee spots and restaurants, singing, crafting, or diving into her entrepreneurial passions.

Audrey is thrilled to be part of such an amazing team and is passionate about ensuring every patient feels welcomed and cared for during their visit!

Kathy- Front Desk Coordinator

Kathy is an experienced office administrator. She started working in our office after she retired from her corporate job with Coca -Cola.

She is known to our staff and patients as the “Office Grammi”.

Now working in the dental field, kathy has the opportunity to greet patients and start their dental experience with the excellent customer service and personal care that Dr Brian and his staff work hard to achieve.
She also helps with the accounting and financial transactions of the day-to-day operations.
Her goal is to make a positive difference to the patient’s experience at their dental appointment

Dental Hygienists

Becky, RDH

Becky graduated from Rio Salado College in Tempe, AZ. She has volunteered at Arizona Mission of Mercy, Boys & Girls Club, and in Team Smile. She strongly believes in continuing education and loves to keep up with new scientific findings in the dental field and enjoys passing that
along to her patients.
She is very social and makes it a goal to make her patients feel comfortable every time they’re in our office. Outside of work, she enjoys catching up on new shows, traveling, spending time with her family, and of course cheering on the Chiefs! Becky is so grateful to be a part of the Schowengerdt team.

Rosie, RDH

Rosie is a dedicated and experienced dental hygienist with a passion for patient care. With many years in the field, she values building strong relationships with patients, helping them feel comfortable and confident in their dental care.

Outside of work, Rosie enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, who keep them busy with all their activities. She loves getting lost a good book, traveling and exploring the outdoors, and cheering on her favorite sports teams! Go Royals!

Shelbie, RDH

Shelbie is a registered dental hygienist with a passion for helping people achieve and maintain healthy smiles.

When she’s not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring outdoors, and traveling.

She’s always happy to share my passion for oral health with her patients and help them on their journey to a healthier smile.

Allie, RDH

Allie is a Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from JCCC in Kansas. She has a passion for educating her patients on their oral health and helping them maintain a confident smile. She always strives to make each patient's experience as comfortable and positive as possible.

Outside of the office she enjoys being active - running, swimming, dancing, tennis - she enjoys it all! She also loves exploring new places with her husband and trying new crafts.

She can’t wait to meet you and make your experience at our office a great one!

Tessa, RDH

Tessa graduated from the University of Missouri–Kansas City in 2024 and began her career as a traveling dental hygienist in New Hampshire. She is passionate about patient education and is dedicated to creating a calm, comfortable experience for every patient she treats.

Outside the office, Tessa enjoys hiking, photography, yoga, traveling, and attending concerts. She is a devoted animal lover, spending a lot of time with her cat, Winston, various pets at her parents’ house, and volunteering with The Animal Rescue Alliance.

Dental Assistants

Aislinn, EFDA

With over seven years of experience in the dental field, Aislinn is an enthusiastic and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA). Specializing in restorative procedures and fixed expanded functions license, she is trained to assist with a variety of procedures, including seating crowns and providing hands-on support during dental treatments. Her ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease is one of the qualities that sets her apart.

Beyond her technical expertise, Aislinn thrives on making a positive impact on the lives of her patients, enjoying the rewarding experience of seeing them leave with a beautiful smile. With a strong commitment to patient care, she strives to continuously expand her knowledge through ongoing professional development.

Outside of work, Aislinn is a fitness enthusiast who loves working out and staying active. She enjoys spending time outdoors, whether hiking, exploring new restaurants, or discovering new places while traveling. As a mom to four kids, she has developed excellent multitasking skills and a deep understanding of balance. In addition, she has a passion for crafting and enjoys spending her downtime being creative.

Having lived in a small town for the past seven years, Aislinn values community and the relationships she’s built with both her patients and the people around her.

Teresa, DA

Born and raised in California, Teresa brings 16 years of experience in the dental field, with a deep commitment to patient care and comfort. She strives to create a calm, welcoming environment where every patient feels valued and in capable hands.

Her approach is centered on building trust and ensuring that each visit is a positive, reassuring experience.

Outside of the office, she enjoy starting my day with a good cup of coffee, tending to her growing collection of plants, and spending time outdoors to stay balanced and refreshed. Whether at work or at play, she focuses on creating meaningful connections and fostering a positive atmosphere.

Laken, DA

Laken is one of the newest members of our team and brings a unique and compassionate perspective to her role as a dental assistant. While new to the dental field, she has a strong background in health and human services, where she developed a deep commitment to patient care and support.

Before joining our practice, Laken worked as a social work case manager, specializing in child forensics. Her experience working closely with families and children in sensitive situations has shaped her calm, empathetic approach and her ability to make patients feel at ease—especially those who may be nervous about dental visits.

Laken is excited to bring her dedication to helping others into a new environment and is eager to grow in her dental career. Her friendly demeanor and genuine care for our patients make her a valued part of our team.

Outside of work, Laken enjoys spending time with her fiancé, reading books, playing with her three beloved cats (meow!), gardening, and cooking delicious meals.
